In paperboard packaging box’s modeling design, there are two main factors that affect paper cartons’ modeling: one is linear, the other is surface. The change of line shape will inevitably affect and produce the change of surface shape, thus creating a new shape. Curve and straight line are two kinds of lines with different characters and different feelings, which have a strong contrast relationship. The comparison of curve and straight line should be fully used in packaging boxes modeling to create a new paperboard packaging shape.
6. Paperboard packaging box cover modeling design
The paperboard packaging box cover is the door and window for the entry and exit of packaged goods, so the structure of the paper packaging box cover must be convenient for the loading and removal of goods. After the goods are loaded, the box cover cannot be opened by itself, which can protect the goods and is easy to open when used.
There are many kinds of paperboard packaging box covers, some of which can be opened multiple times and some of which are one-time structures which can only be opened once and cannot be restored. The opening position is usually on the narrowest or widest side of the package. The design of the bottom of the paper carton should first consider the protection of the contents, that is, what kind of cardboard is used to make a carton of what structure can make the product safely reach consumers. Secondly, the structure of the box bottom should be as simple as possible, otherwise it is difficult to adapt to the mechanized production of packaging. The general design principle is to ensure both strength and simplicity.
